Welcome

Hello and welcome to blue mutt photography!! We are so glad to have you. Blue Mutt is devoted to capturing the very spirit and soul of your pet, creating a piece of artwork that will last a lifetime. We are a Dallas pet photography business, and would love to hear from you! Please contact us for more information!

Meet the real Blue Mutt. His name is Willie and he is the love of our family! Willie is a Blue Heeler mix who we rescued 3 years ago. Willie was found abandoned and abused but with a little love he has become a loving, sweet, soccer playing dog! Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, he only has one eye...but he is so handsome!

Oh, and that's me...Allison Cameron. I have spent my entire life loving animals! It has been my dream to start a pet photography business and now it has become a reality! I hope you will join me on my journey and one day have an amazing piece of art of your very own pet hanging in your home.

I Heart Water Dogs

Well, I heart all dogs, but it is especially fun to photograph a pup who loves to swim – no matter how cold the water may be! Vegas, the yellow lab, was all about the water – pretty sure he would have spent all afternoon laying in the water if he had his say. But we had to get him home since his photo shoot is a surprise birthday present for his Dad. Just a happy-go-lucky boy who was curious about everything around him.Vegas 11Vegas 03Vegas 12

Vegas was also very skilled with the tennis ball. You just can’t beat the green grass in Highland Park this time of year!

Not sure why – but I absolutely loves this photos!

Shelter Dogs

It never ceases to amaze me how any dog in any situation still greets you with a smile and a wag. I really do think that everyone should have a pet of their own. It is a proven fact that owning any kind of pet can reduce stress: check out this article on About.com. I love my Thursday mornings spent at the SPCA of Texas as their “unofficial” pet photographer :)

Sneak Peak – Vegas

Nope, not Las Vegas – Vegas the lovable yellow lab! All of the dogs in Vegas’ extended family are named after cities – such a great idea :) Here are a few photos I wanted to share right away! Check out his incredible smile – such a sweet, sweet boy.

He was so excited once we made it to the creek at the bottom of the park – he just plopped down in the water and enjoyed the cool water on his tummy.

SPCA Shelter Pups – all smiles!

Things are back on track after the holidays and the dogs at The SPCA of Texas are ready for their new home. I spent the morning at the shelter playing with all of them.

Meet Eva and Abbey! These two sister’s are from the same house and are too sweet. Eva is more of a goofball, while Abbey just watched us run around. I like how they both look like they are wearing eye-liner!

On the left is JoJo, she is an Australian Kelpie mix, which means she is super smart. And Germany, a shepherd mix, on the right just wanted to run circles around me!

This St. Bernard is just a huge love-bug, ready for hugs and big, BIG kisses. I just couldn’t believe these little legs were holding him up!

And last but certainly not least is this little girl – she was hysterical! First she was a little unsure about my camera, but once she realized it wasn’t going to hurt her she started hamming it up big time. I spent a little extra time with her because (1) she kept making me laugh, and (2) I think she needed some extra play time!

Just too much fun, I love my job as a pet photographer! Dogs are always happy and have so much love to give it is just amazing. Everyone needs a love-bug of their own :) Adopt a dog today!

Wishes for a Wonderful New Year!

Happy New Year!

I snapped this photos on a recent trip to The Dallas Arboretum in November, I love the colors and it makes me hopeful for the New Year and the arrival of Spring. I am lucky enough to live in a city that doesn’t have much of a winter, however this Thursday the high is only 30 degrees and it is BIG news! Sorry all you guys up North, but just give me a call in the summer when we hit 110!!

Here’s wishing everyone a wonderful 2010 :)

By the way – I’ve named this little guy charlie… my nephew insists that every animal no matter how big or small they may be actually has a name. So I am constantly naming bugs and critters, birds and frogs . I’ve actually become very good at it to tell you the truth.

The Odd yet Adorable Couple

I could help but giggle when Bailey and Rooney came bursting out the front door to greet me for their photo shoot. It never ceases to amaze me how dogs are just full of love for everyone and everything around them. Bailey, a West Highland Terrier, measures in at an astounding 12″ tall, while Rooney, a lovable Labradoodle, is a modest 36″!! Bailey can walk right under Rooney and he wouldn’t even notice. However, they are inseperable – best buds. I’m sure you can figure out who’s the goofball of the pair… Rooney. While Bailey was a very sophisticated little lady!
